The Legless lizards is one of the most fascinating creatures in the reptile world due to the fact that they look like snakes. Having lost their limbs, the Legless lizard crawls about like a snake looking for their favorite food - snails and slugs.
The Legless lizard is an easy to care for reptile. In the wild, they spend much of their time burrowing under the soil and logs looking for live food like snails and slugs. In captivity provide at least 3 to 4 inches of the substrate for these lizards to burrow into. In addition to providing snails and slugs to eat, the Legless lizard can be fed dog food (on occasion), Dubia roaches, mealworms, and even eggs.
You want to provide enough space for the Legless lizard to move around so an adult specimen will live comfortably in a 30 or 40-gallon tank. Provide a tight lid on the take for the safety of the lizard.
