These little guys may look like regular lizards, but they're armed and dangerous! Native to New Guinea, the Tribolonotus novaeguineae is one of the world's most armored skinks, protecting itself from predators with its tough scales. And while they may not be the fastest creatures around, their sharp claws can do some severe damage. So if you're looking for a pet that can defend itself, the New Guinea Armored Skink is worth checking out!
T. Novaeguineae can reach a length of 7.5" to 8" inches with the Males being slightly larger than females, and most specimens weighing in at 45 grams. Their coloration is a medium brown to light black all over, having a cream collar around the neck and their underbellies being a yellow to cream color. An unusual characteristic of the New Guinea crocodile skink is its ability to vocalize, producing an extraordinarily loud sound for such a relatively small species. The ability to vocalize may be increased by an enlarged larynx-like structure in the throat area, again especially pronounced in males.

This was my first experience purchasing a reptile online Aug. 29th, 2013. He arrived exactly when stated and in perfect condition. He is a 5 ft. male green iguana, and though a little aggressive at first after only 1 day has calmed down dramatically. Highly recommended, and thank you for the amazing addition to our family!
